The Head of HR Governance, Risk & Compliance is a senior role within HR Group, responsible for ensuring effective governance, compliance, and operational excellence within the HR function, overseeing and managing all aspects of human resources-related risk and compliance within the organization. This role ensures that the company adheres to legal, regulatory, and ethical standards while mitigating risks associated with HR & people practices. The individual will develop and implement policies, procedures, and strategies to ensure compliance with labor laws, data privacy regulations, and internal governance frameworks, ensuring seamless HR operations across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- HR Governance & Compliance Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain robust HR governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards.
- Ensure HR policies, procedures, and practices comply with local, national, and international labor laws, regulations, and industry standards whereover the Bank is operating.
- Monitor changes in labor laws, data privacy regulations, and other compliance requirements, and update HR practices accordingly.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR-related regulatory inquiries and audits.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to HR activities, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and termination processes.
- Develop and implement risk management frameworks to minimize legal, financial, and reputational risks.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, Risk, and operations teams to address cross-functional risks.
- HR Policy Development:
- Design and update HR policies, codes of conduct, and employee handbooks to ensure alignment with compliance requirements and organizational values.
- Provide guidance on ethical workplace practices and ensure adherence to anti-discrimination, harassment, and diversity policies.
- Strategic Leadership:
- Provide strategic guidance to the CHRO and senior leadership on HR governance, risk management, and operational support.
- Lead and mentor a team of HR professionals, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and innovation.
- Partner with other HR leaders to ensure alignment between governance, business support, and broader HR strategies.
- Training and Awareness:
- Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees and managers on compliance-related topics, including labor laws, data privacy, and workplace ethics.
- Promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness across the organization.
- Investigations and Reporting:
- Lead investigations into HR-related compliance issues, such as employee grievances, whistleblower complaints, or regulatory violations.
- Prepare and submit compliance reports to senior management and regulatory bodies as required.
- Data Privacy and Security:
- Oversee the protection of employee data and ensure compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to safeguard HR systems and data.
- Stakeholder Collaboration & Engagement:
- Work closely with the CHRO, CCO, CRO, and other senior leaders to align HR risk and compliance strategies with organizational goals.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors, regulators, and legal advisors on HR compliance matters.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including legal, compliance, and audit teams.
- Act as a trusted advisor to business leaders, providing insights and recommendations on HR governance and support matters.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Law, or a related field, or professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-SCP, CIPD, CHRC) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in HR, compliance, or risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Proven track record of managing HR compliance programs in a complex regulated environment.
- In-depth knowledge of labor laws, data privacy regulations, and HR best practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Ability to lead and inspire teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
