Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman, Shangri-La's Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms, the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets, 1,056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms, wide variety of recreational facilities, and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

The Resort Animator is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and delivering a variety of recreational, fitness, and entertainment activities for guests of all ages. The role plays a key part in creating memorable holiday experiences by promoting fun, engagement, and guest participation throughout the resort.

Key Responsibilities

Activity Planning & Delivery:

• Organize and lead daily entertainment programs including games, sports, fitness classes, pool activities, and evening shows.
• Ensure activities are age-appropriate, safe, inclusive, and align with the resort's brand and guest profile.
• Adjust activities based on weather, guest participation, and feedback.
  
  

Guest Engagement

• Interact with guests in a friendly, enthusiastic, and approachable manner to encourage participation.
• Create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for solo travelers, families, and groups.
• Maintain high energy and a positive attitude throughout the day to motivate and entertain guests.
  
  

Children & Family Programs

• Plan and supervise creative and educational activities for children, including arts and crafts, treasure hunts, and themed games.
• Ensure children's safety and well-being during all activities, following child-friendly standards and procedures.
• Communicate with parents/guardians as needed regarding their children's experience.
  
  

Performance & Shows

• Participate in evening entertainment such as dance shows, musical performances, and themed nights.
• Rehearse regularly with the animation team to ensure professional show delivery.
• Assist in preparing props, costumes, and stage setup.
  
  

Coordination & Reporting

• Coordinate with other departments (e.g., F&B, Spa, Front Office) for joint activities or guest information.
• Provide guest feedback and activity participation reports to the Recreation or Animation Manager.
• Support promotional efforts by distributing schedules and announcements.
  
  

Standards & Safety

• Follow all safety protocols and emergency procedures during activities.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of activity areas and storage spaces.
• Uphold company grooming and behavior standards, ensuring a professional and approachable image at all times.
