Scope of Position

The Bartender is to perform proactive, interactive and reactive allowing each member of our guests completely satisfies during their meal and bar experience.

Responsibilities

• General:
• Understand and comply with all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures.
• Comply with the MOHG Code of Conduct regarding business activities and decisions.
• Fully support all learning and development activities.
• Safeguard stored information and not divulge personal data concerning guests, customers or colleagues without appropriate authority.
• Use of the hotel's network, computers or internet access in an unreasonable or inappropriate manner is a serious breach of hotel policy.
• Support and adhere to all policies & procedures relating to Safe, Sound and Sustainable at Mandarin Oriental.
• Ensure compliance with the MOHG Social Media Policy.
• Mandarin Oriental, Muscat has zero tolerance on all forms of harassment or discrimination.
• Carry out any additional duties requested by management related to hotel operational activities.
• Departmental:
• Support the company's philosophy and culture through the use of Pillars and Legendary Quality Experiences.
• Lead and communicate with colleagues during bar operations.
• Follow the production sequence of all beverage products and bar service.
• Achieve service and product delivery standards with high client care.
• Be responsible for the set-up and operation of a bar station/section.
• Provide services for guests such as order taking and promoting restaurant food and beverage offerings.
• Provide recommendations and prepare wine and creative cocktail choices for guests.
• Co-ordinate the service of food and beverage efficiently and accurately.
• Report and follow up on maintenance defaults affecting service delivery.
• Respond proactively to guest queries with effective communication.
• Perform all duties related to restaurant opening/closing checklists.
• Perform any other reasonable duties as required by the Bar Supervisor/ Assistant Manager.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly inventory.
• Be responsible for cash float and cashiering.
• Maintain and order all store requisitions.
• Ensure stock rotation.
• Comply with safe working practices as laid down under FLHSS.
• Comply with local and relevant Food Hygiene Standards.
• Wear appropriate protective clothing as provided or recommended by the Hotel.
• Report any defects in the building, plant, or equipment according to hotel procedures.
• Ensure any accidents to colleagues, guests or visitors are reported in accordance with hotel procedures.
• Attend all statutory fire training and be conversant with fire, health & safety rules.
• Be aware of Fire safety plans.
• Adhere to Safe & Sound procedures regarding Health & safety.
• Adhere to Safe & Sound procedures regarding HACCP standards.
• Attend any training deemed appropriate by your Head of Department.
• Be responsible for the Safe & Sound procedures followed by your peers.
