Job Description

We aim to serve the needs of our business, guests, and colleagues by ensuring our guests enjoy all the Sport & Recreation activities offered by the hotel.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the smooth operation of the Sports & Recreation department daily to maximize guest satisfaction.
• Create unique and engaging activities that leverage local cultural, sporting, or other offerings, making our leisure options a competitive advantage. Oversee outsourced services to maintain standards.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all hotel products and services, especially sports and leisure activities and equipment.
• Implement and uphold all health and safety standards in sports and leisure activities, with particular attention to children's safety.
• Execute the Anantara Children's Program effectively.
• Ensure activities are conducted safely using proper techniques.
• Utilize qualified attendants for activities requiring specific certifications, such as fitness instructors, aerobics instructors, and lifeguards.
• Monitor program success through participant numbers and guest feedback, making adjustments to ensure high-quality, enjoyable, and original programs.
• Coordinate with the Anantara Concierge to inform guests about upcoming events and activities.
• Collaborate with the Spa department to promote spa offerings, enhancing guest satisfaction and hotel revenue.
• Maintain cleanliness and good condition of all equipment in gyms, water sports, and other activity areas.
• Assist guests and members in achieving their fitness goals by providing skills, knowledge, and motivation.
• Maintain records of guest progress and activity participation for follow-up.
• Foster a positive working environment across departments.
• Follow proper procedures for billing and charging for sports and recreation services.
• Be flexible to undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
• Drive revenue growth within the department.

Qualifications

• Secondary school diploma or higher qualification
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within a 5-star hotel
• Proficient in English communication
• Helpful, attentive, and physically fit
