To provide paralegal, secretarial, and administrative assistance to the General Counsel and the legal department.
Responsibilities
Strategic
- Assist in achieving efficiencies and effectiveness in SDIC by supporting and contributing to the development of legal processes and policies.
People
- Perform routine administrative activities required of a legal professional.
- Support the section in executing tasks accurately and completely on a daily basis.
- Seek guidance from the section head when necessary.
- Foster a team-oriented culture, cooperation, and continuous self-development within the unit.
- Educate colleagues on processes and procedures regularly.
Operational
- Perform duties as directed by the section head.
- Draft, edit, format, and manage legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in preparing and coordinating general meetings for SDIC.
- Liaise with the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for statutory submissions.
- Collaborate with legal counsel to ensure document accuracy and proper filing.
- Maintain and organize legal files and records.
- Record and transcribe meeting minutes.
- Track legal matters, manage timesheets, and oversee matter management systems.
- Prepare official correspondence under legal staff guidance.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
- Maintain key legal records and monitor legal issues.
- Review and process legal invoices and statements.
- Follow up on legal issues and liaise with external counsel.
- File legal documents accurately and promptly.
- Manage travel and scheduling for the department.
- Coordinate logistics for meetings and document deliveries.
- Respond to inquiries and provide initial guidance.
- Ensure smooth daily operations of the Legal Department.
- Assist staff with legal-related support and research.
- Organize departmental meetings and logistics.
- Monitor ongoing legal matters and liaise with relevant stakeholders.
- Respond to stakeholder requests and escalate complex issues.
- Contribute to legal risk assessments and compliance.
- Compile departmental reports on legal activities.
- Provide translation support between Arabic and English, coordinating with external translators if needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Performance Indicators
- Establish and maintain an alert system for contractual deadlines.
- Create and maintain a precedent bank for the legal section.
- Set up and manage a document management system for agreements and contracts.
Desired Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in legal or commercial law.
