Welding/NDT Inspector

The job holder is responsible for following up, monitoring, and supervising NDT & Inspection activities carried out by the Plant & Tank Contractors and Subcontractors at site and, if at vendors' yards, as required during the Construction and Pre-commissioning phases. The goal is to ensure that his discipline's contractual and technical requirements are duly applied by the Contractors and/or Subcontractors.

He verifies and comments on Contractor's and/or Subcontractor's NDT procedures and methodologies, NDT map, and ensures that they have adequate equipment, resources, means, and manpower to perform the job with the required quality level and to complete it in due time. He also closely monitors the calibration and storage of NDT equipment (Gamma-ray, UT set, MPI, etc.).

The job holder participates in routine and random inspections, assists in daily/regular construction meetings related to his discipline with Contractors and/or Subcontractors, performs HSE visits and tours as required, and ensures proper reporting to the Senior Welding/NDT Inspector regarding areas of concern or problems encountered during construction and/or implementation by Contractors and/or Subcontractors.

He provides assistance to the Company Construction team on all matters related to his discipline, following instructions from his discipline Superintendent. He is accountable for demonstrating exemplary behavior concerning HSSE rules & requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum 10 years in NDT activities
  • Minimum 5 years in a similar role and on LNG Plant Construction
  • Valid Level 2 certificate: ASNT 9712; PCN (or equivalent) in UT, RT, MT, and PT
  • Valid welding certificates: CSWIP 3.1, AWS CWI
  • Technical competencies include engineering, construction & installation techniques, welding and NDT techniques, use of software (Word, Excel, Email), knowledge of project referential (rules/procedures), team collaboration, and knowledge of relevant international codes.
