Civil Engineer

Planning, designing, and supervising different types of structures, such as buildings, roads, power plants, and towers. Responsible for repair and routine maintenance of civil works for all Omantel premises in different Governorates and Regions.

Provide survey reports, drawings, and blueprints to plan projects.
Inspect project sites to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications and sanitation standards.
Supervise construction, operations, and maintenance activities at project sites.
Estimate quantities and costs of materials, equipment, or labor to determine project feasibility.
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in the construction or repair of buildings and access roads.
Assess project requirements, break projects into tasks, and work with the department manager to determine the scope of work and budget.
Support and prepare engineering studies, schematic design, and final design of various projects including plans, specifications, and estimates.
Lead, assign, and review work of the project design team. Check progress of work and identify changes of scope or additional services required.
Coordinate all aspects of project documentation within the company and external agencies.
Resolve design issues with designers, contractors, and other agencies.
Ability to develop and maintain close working relationships with other units and suppliers.
Lead and mentor junior engineers as well as manage budget, time, work products, and other resources.
Produce statements of quantities and prepare budget assessments for projects.
Participate in preparing tender documents and evaluation of the bid process.
Assist other engineers when help is needed.
Assign construction and maintenance works to the group and provide direction for the adherence to policies and procedures.
Prepare annual plans and budgets and ensure the group operates within the approved plans.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Construction Engineering from an accredited college or university.

Technical Skills:
Working knowledge and experience in civil work projects and maintenance.
Working knowledge of designing and computer-aided drafting systems.
Ability to read, interpret, and produce maps, surveys, engineering drawings, and graphics from engineering software, including CAD, spreadsheet, pavement management, and GIS.

Specific Experience:
Minimum 4-5 years of experience in civil work planning, design, and execution of projects and maintenance works.
