Job DescriptionThe Chef de Partie is a pivotal role in the culinary team, responsible for preparing menu items to exacting standards. This position demands exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills to ensure that every dish meets the hotel's high expectations.
Main Responsibilities include:
- To thoroughly review all event orders and prepare mise-en-place accordingly.
- To oversee junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and adherence to safety protocols.
- To create visually appealing buffets that showcase the hotel's commitment to quality and presentation.
- To collaborate with stewarding staff to maintain pristine work areas and adhere to hygiene standards at all times.
- To coordinate closely with butchers to source ingredients necessary for events and functions.
- To conduct regular checks on all areas of responsibility to guarantee seamless execution.
- To assist in briefing staff on improved working methods, fostering a spirit of continuous improvement.
- To undertake additional duties as delegated by department heads, embracing opportunities for growth and development.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess:
- A minimum of 4-5 years' experience in a hotel or fine-dining kitchen environment.
- Expertise in a specific cuisine (hot, cold, or kitchen).
- In-depth knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Excellent leadership and time management skills, enabling them to work effectively under pressure.
- A high school diploma; a culinary certificate is highly desirable.
