High-Performance Software Engineer

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled High-Performance Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, mathematics or physics and be passionate about software performance, correctness, and efficiency.

The role involves driving software performance and correctness in various projects, collaborating with colleagues and community members globally, working on shared tools and infrastructure for performance measurement and analysis, teaching and training skills in performance culture and design, and analyzing systems and code to understand performance and scalability.

Responsibilities:

Requirements:

  • Exceptional academic track record from high school and university
  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics or Physics
  • Demonstrable personal initiatives to measure and improve performance, efficiency and correctness in code
  • Confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback and share ideas without hesitation
  • Leadership and commitment to skills development and mentorship
  • Passion for technology evidenced by personal projects and initiatives
  • Excellent written and spoken English with presentation skills
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Interpersonal skills, curiosity, flexibility and accountability
  • Appreciative of diversity, polite and effective in a multi-cultural organisation
  • Thoughtfulness and self-motivation
  • Result-oriented with a personal drive to meet commitments
