We're seeking a Technical Engineering Manager to lead our Big Data and MySQL database teams. The ideal candidate will have experience running production systems at scale and be able to drive good engineering practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers building scalable data solutions for Kubernetes and cloud machines">
  • Hire, coach, mentor, and provide feedback to team members">
  • Demonstrate sound engineering skills by contributing code when needed">
  • Set and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders">
  • Advocate modern software development practices and develop great engineering and organizational practices">
  • Ensure the team delivers excellent products users love by maintaining a culture of quality and engineering excellence">
  • Grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture aligned with our values">
  • Collaborate with leadership to drive company goals and objectives">

Requirements:

  • A software engineering background, preferably with experience in Python and Golang">
  • Experience running production systems at scale, preferably Big Data or MySQL">
  • Excellent judgment about people's motivations, abilities, developmental needs, and prospects for success">
  • Proven ability to build high-quality open-source software">
  • Proven track record of driving good engineering practices around performance and quality">
  • An open-minded attitude to new technologies and a drive to push boundaries">
