Wood is hiring for a highly experienced Structural Engineer to work on offshore projects in Oman.

This role involves secondment to our client in Muscat, Oman.

About the Role

We are seeking an accomplished engineer with 15 years of experience in refinery and petrochemical industries. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of offshore structural activities and experience working in the Middle East is essential.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of offshore engineering activities associated with SBM and pipeline systems.
  • Develop and expand hands-on experience in engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation of SBM and pipeline systems in the oil & gas industry.
  • Support general engineering activities directly linked to offshore structural and marine engineering.
  • Manage EPC contractor deliverables, including detailed design, installation engineering, construction, and commissioning.

Key Tasks include:

  • Maintenance of offshore survey, navigational studies, mooring analysis, seismic analysis etc.
  • SBM and related vendor deliverables management.
  • Mooring anchors, chains, mooring hawsers, PLEM, and SBM locations oversight.
  • Installation and engineering, including analysis and procedures for offshore structural and geotechnical scope handling.
  • Applying offshore engineering standards and design codes such as DNV, OCIMS, AWS, API, ABS etc.
  • Reviewing offshore engineering deliverables (SBM, PLEM, and related pipelines).
  • Providing innovative solutions to project challenges, balancing cost, schedule, and compliance.
  • Participating in engineering reviews and meetings, providing leadership when required.
Requirements
  • BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • At least 15 years of experience in refinery and petrochemical industries.
  • Extensive experience in offshore structural activities.
  • Experience in the Middle East is mandatory.

Additional qualifications include but not limited to being able to verify site equipment locations, pipe routing, tie-ins, and constructability. Experience managing offshore consultants would also be beneficial.
