Job Responsibilities

This role involves designing and developing scalable and high-performance backend services, optimizing geospatial data processing workflows, deploying, managing, and monitoring applications, and ensuring security, performance, and reliability of web applications.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Backend Service Design and Development: Design and develop scalable and high-performance backend services with PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Redis, and RESTful APIs.
  2. Geospatial Data Processing: Optimize geospatial data processing workflows using GDAL, Fiona, Shapely, and Pyproj.
  3. Application Deployment and Management: Deploy, manage, and monitor applications in Dockerized environments with Nginx and cloud services (AWS).
  4. Clean Code Principles and Best Practices: Apply clean code principles, design patterns, and best practices for maintainability and scalability.
  5. Web Application Security and Reliability: Ensure security, performance, and reliability of web applications.
  6. CI/CD Pipelines and Agile Methodologies: Utilize CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, and Agile methodologies to streamline development processes.
  7. Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the Technical Lead and other engineers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
  8. Troubleshooting and Debugging: Troubleshoot and debug issues in both frontend and backend components.
  9. Testing and Quality Assurance: Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure software reliability and robustness.
  10. Test-Driven Development: Follow Test-Driven Development (TDD) principles and integrate testing into the development workflow.
