Business Application Development & Administration

This role involves coordinating the development, administration, and user support for all business applications used by our organization. The position is responsible for administering related databases, assisting in collecting and consolidating user department requirements, coding, testing, and implementing new business applications. Additionally, the position will provide various reporting services to functional users as requested.

The role also entails secondary responsibility for the Applications Administration and Support team, handling team activities in the absence of the Applications Manager.

Requirements

Job Skills

  1. Education: BSC degree in computer science
  2. Experience: Requires three to five years of general application & database management experience, preferably with Navis TOS, ERP, or related business systems experience in mid to large-sized private organizations.
  3. Specialized Knowledge:
    1. A thorough understanding of applications & database management, specifically related to TOS and ERP systems.
    2. Fundamental knowledge of Terminal Operations, HR, financial, and inventory control principles.
    3. Proficiency in Oracle and UNIX platforms, SQL, and Windows operating systems, with hands-on experience.
    4. Good knowledge of PC hardware and software systems.
    5. Comprehensive understanding of Oracle's database products, including setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
    6. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex application and database management issues.
  4. Skills:
    1. Problem-solving skills for high-complexity tasks.
    2. Multitasking with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    3. Attention to detail with high accuracy.
    4. Maintain confidentiality and act discreetly due to access to sensitive information.
    5. Able to anticipate client needs and maintain good working relationships.
    6. Proficiency in various software applications and programs.
    7. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing. Arabic language skills are helpful, especially in training others.
