Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned leader to oversee the growth and success of our MAAS team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a distributed team of engineers, fostering collaboration and productivity across regions.
  • Talent development through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and career planning, helping engineers grow professionally.
  • Establish and manage expectations with other engineering teams, senior management, and external stakeholders, ensuring seamless communication and alignment.
  • Advocate for and advance modern software development practices, driving innovation and excellence within the team.
  • Participate in the engineering process through code and architectural review, providing expert guidance and oversight.
  • Engage with broader teams at Canonical, the open source community, and partners, cultivating strategic relationships and opportunities.
  • Travel to internal and external global events for up to six weeks per year, representing the team and promoting our mission.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, with a strong track record of leadership and talent development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong technical expertise, with a deep understanding of software development principles and practices.
  • Ability to travel extensively, both domestically and internationally.
