About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer for Distributed Storage to join our team. As a key member of our Cloud Engineering department, you will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions to drive systems such as OpenStack, Ceph, and Kubernetes with a focus on distributed storage.

Your primary objective will be to engineer solutions that scale in production, working closely with our field teams to ensure we meet the needs of customers adopting cutting-edge technology.

This role requires a strong passion for the future of software-defined data centers, distributed systems, and open-source technologies. You will be part of a globally distributed team of engineers who share this passion and work collaboratively to achieve common goals.

The ideal candidate will have experience with writing modern, maintainable Python code and have worked with Ceph storage. They should also love technology and working with brilliant people, be curious, flexible, articulate, and accountable, and value soft skills like being passionate, enterprising, thoughtful, and self-motivated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Write high-quality, rigorously designed Python and Golang software.
  • Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team.
  • Debug issues and produce high-quality code to fix them.
  • Contribute to technical documentation that define best practices for authoring high-quality operators.
  • Discuss ideas and collaborate on finding good solutions.
  • Develop and maintain software for delivery, operations, and life-cycle management of Ceph storage.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field.
  • Experience with writing modern, maintainable Python code.
  • Experience with Ceph storage.
  • Strong passion for technology and collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
