The Role of a Cost Control Leader

Job Description:

A cost control leader is required to partner with a drilling services company in Oman. This role involves ensuring the efficiency and discipline of costs across drilling operations and capital projects.

About the Job:

This leadership position is critical in managing budgeting, cost allocation, and project cost tracking to ensure financial performance aligns with operational objectives.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop cost control frameworks for operations and projects.
  • Monitor project budgets, variances, and cost performance reports.
  • Support procurement teams in cost analysis and vendor negotiations.
  • Provide executive-level cost forecasts and risk assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.
  • Lead cost reporting for executive management and stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience:

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

  • At least 15 years of experience in cost control and project finance within drilling, oilfield, or heavy industrial sectors.
  • Proven ability to manage cost frameworks for large-scale drilling projects.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting standards and GCC financial practices.
  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering with financial specialization.
