Aristotle Teachers is a reputable educational institution seeking an experienced and passionate Specialist Primary SEN Educator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Special Education Needs (SEN) strategies, differentiation, and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development. They will be responsible for teaching and learning support, assessment and progress monitoring, collaboration and communication, classroom and behavioral support, and professional development.

About the Role:

  • Teaching and Learning Support:
    • Plan and deliver individualized and small-group lessons tailored to the needs of students with SEN.
    • Differentiate the curriculum to ensure access and engagement for all learners.
    • Support classroom teachers in implementing inclusive teaching strategies and accommodations.
    • Use appropriate resources and teaching methods to meet the needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Assessment and Progress Monitoring:
    • Conduct assessments to identify students strengths, needs, and progress.
    • Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with the SEN team.
    • Monitor and record student progress, adjusting strategies as needed.
    • Provide regular updates to parents and school leadership on student progress and challenges.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Work closely with classroom teachers to plan and implement inclusive lessons.
    • Liaise with the SEN Coordinator, external specialists, and therapists to provide targeted support.
    • Build strong relationships with parents and guardians to support students' learning and well-being.
    • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to develop and review student support plans.
  • Classroom and Behavioral Support:
    • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
    • Implement behavior management strategies to support students with social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
    • Encourage students independence and confidence in their learning.
  • Professional Development:
    • Engage in professional learning to stay updated on best practices in SEN education.
    • Participate in workshops, training sessions, and conferences related to SEN and inclusive education.
    • Share expertise and support colleagues in developing inclusive practices across the school.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
  • Teaching certification, with a focus on the IB Primary Years Programme preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, with a focus on SEN or inclusive education.
  • Strong understanding of SEN strategies, differentiation, and IEP development.
  • Familiarity with the IB PYP curriculum and philosophy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
