We are seeking a highly skilled Database Administrator to fill a critical role in our IT department.

Job Description

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for designing and implementing database integrations, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery solutions, and providing 24x7 production support. You will work closely with various technical teams to drive SQL Server and PostgreSQL best practices and coordinate incident response for major incidents.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with open-source databases such as PostgreSQL, Hadoop, and MongoDB, as well as a solid background in database architecture, high availability, and production support environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement database integrations with new/existing database server setups
  • Drive SQL Server and PostgreSQL best practices in collaboration with Security, Network, and Windows teams
  • Provide 24x7 production support and on-call support for PostgreSQL and other database platforms
  • Coordinate incident response with various technical teams for major incidents
  • Configure high-availability solutions: Always On, Log Shipping, Mirroring, Replication, Clustering
  • Lead regular Disaster Recovery drills to ensure system readiness
  • Apply security patches and hotfixes in accordance with company policies and Microsoft quarterly updates

Requirements:

The successful candidate must have a minimum of 7 years of overall IT experience, with at least 5 years of experience in database administration, and a minimum of 3 years supporting open-source databases like PostgreSQL, Hadoop, and MongoDB.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience in cloud-based database environments
  • Prior work experience in large-scale enterprise setups
