Olefin Process Specialist

About the Role:
The Senior Operations Lead is a pivotal position within our team, overseeing the efficient management of Olefin Processing Unit and NGLE operations. This role demands strong leadership, technical expertise, and analytical skills to drive continuous improvement in process optimisation, energy efficiency, and cost reduction.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Team Management: Supervise and motivate a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
- Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to enhance process efficiency, reduce energy consumption, and optimise resource allocation.
- Troubleshooting and Resolution: Identify and resolve complex operational issues through effective problem-solving and decision-making.
- Technical Design and Validation: Develop, validate, and implement technical designs, PFDs, H&MBs, and process simulations.
- Process Control and Quality Monitoring: Ensure seamless daily operations through process control, quality monitoring, and product optimisation.
- Benchmarking and Improvement: Analyse processes, identify areas for improvement, and guide implementation.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and effective communication.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 6+ years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas / Refining / Petrochemical environments.
- Strong experience in process optimisation, troubleshooting, and simulation tools.
- Proficient in SAP, MS Office, and industry software (e.g. PI, LIMS).
- Hands-on knowledge of DCS systems, P&IDs, and OEM technical documentation.
- Familiarity with Solomon benchmarking, asset data governance, and budgeting practices.
- Excellent English communication skills (Arabic desirable).

- Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring ability.
- Experience in refinery commissioning/start-up is highly valued.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, emergency response protocols, and process safety.
