Senior Accountant Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to oversee the day-to-day operations of our accounting department. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting and financial management, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely financial reports and analyses.

  • The role involves overseeing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities, as well as preparing and reviewing financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • The successful candidate will manage the month-end and year-end closing process, including reconciliations and journal entries, and analyse financial data and trends to provide insights and recommendations for improving financial performance and efficiency.
  • This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders, including department heads and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the accounting department
  2. Prepare and review financial statements
  3. Manage the month-end and year-end closing process
  4. Analyse financial data and trends
  5. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders
Qualifications and Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting principles
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively
