Senior Electrical Engineer Job Description

Bachelor of Technology/Engineering (Electrical) degree holders are required for a challenging role.

Job Responsibilities
  1. Prepare Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Protection & Metering Diagrams, and Load list documentation accurately.
  2. Create Electrical equipment layouts that meet safety and efficiency standards.
  3. Utilize PLSCCAD for OHL Design, with experience a plus.
  4. Conduct Power System Studies using ETAP/Digsilent software, including short circuit analysis, load flow analysis, and Dynamic Motor starting.
  5. Experience with Dynamic Power System Simulation using ETAP/Digsilent software for Wind, Solar, and Conventional Power Systems is highly desirable.
  6. Develop Protection & Metering SLDs for HV/MV/LV systems, adhering to industry regulations.
  7. Knowledge of Protection Setting Calculation is beneficial.
  8. Perform calculations and design for Earthing and Lightning Protection systems (familiarity with IEEE-80 standard).
  9. Design and calculate lighting systems according to relevant standards (knowledge of lighting software like DIALux, AGI 32 is advantageous).
  10. Perform Equipment Sizing calculations e.g., Transformer, Switchgear, Emergency Diesel Generator, UPS & Battery Charger (familiarity with IEEE standards IEEE 485, IEEE 1115).
  11. Knowledge of Hazardous area classification and Equipment Selection is essential.
  12. Knowledge of Electrical System for Upstream oil and gas is highly preferable.
  13. Size electrical equipment and prepare technical specifications, data sheets, and Material Requisitions (MR).
  14. Review vendor offers and participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
  15. Concept engineering development of Substation equipment layouts.
  16. Concept Development for Power System requirements.
  17. Develop Material take-offs for Electrical bulk items.
  18. Lead a team of engineers and designers throughout project execution, ensuring quality and adherence to timelines.
  19. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated design solutions.
  20. Familiarity with 3D modeling for electrical layouts and systems (knowledge of 3D model review software like Navisworks, E3D is beneficial).
  21. Insightful knowledge of various International standards like IEC, IEEE, NEC, NEMA, NFPA, API, IS, etc.
  22. Conversant with HSE requirements & safety studies such as E-Hazop, EMC study, HAZID, etc.
  23. Strong organizational, communication, time management, and problem-solving skills are required.
About You
  1. Possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Power Engineering from a recognized university/institution; a Master's degree is a plus.
  2. More than 8 years of experience in Electrical and Power Engineering within the oil and gas sector.
  3. Proficient in preparing electrical and power design documentation.
  4. Strong knowledge of Electrical Power systems, HV/MV/LV protections, electrical specifications, data sheets, earthing, lightning protection, cable sizing, lighting design, equipment layout, vendor offer review, and technical bid evaluation.
  5. Excellent communication and leadership skills are necessary.
  6. Familiarity with electrical design software and 3D model review tools is highly desirable.
