Mechanical Engineer: Power Plant Expert

We are seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to lead our gas-based power plant project. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with GENSET gas engines, particularly MTU or Wartsila.

This role requires strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including engines, compressors, and pumps. The successful candidate will possess excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.

The key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Maintenance and Repair: Schedule and oversee regular maintenance and inspections to ensure optimal performance. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, performing necessary repairs. Coordinate with the procurement department for spare parts availability.
  • Operations Support: Provide technical support to operations teams, ensuring plant power needs are met. Implement operational strategies to minimize downtime and maximize output.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze system performance and efficiency, identifying areas for improvement. Implement best practices in maintenance and operations to enhance reliability.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with safety standards and environmental regulations. Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage projects related to mechanical system upgrades and optimization within the plant. Supervise and guide teams of technicians and junior engineers in project execution.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, system performance data, and inventory levels. Prepare daily, weekly, monthly reports, and technical reports for management review.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 10 years of experience.
  • Proven experience in operating and maintaining MTU gas engine power plants.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental policies.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and be available for emergency callouts.
  • Experience with energy efficiency projects and sustainability practices.
  • Knowledge of predictive maintenance techniques.
