Senior Legal Counsel Role

The Senior Legal Counsel will provide strategic legal advice to senior management and other stakeholders on all aspects of corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and banking law.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer to take on a leadership role in shaping the legal strategy of the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, or banking law, with a minimum of 10-12 years of post-lawyer qualification experience.

  • Familiarity with Oil & Gas industry-specific legal requirements and regulations.
  • Substantial experience in corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, or banking law within a reputable law firm or corporate legal department.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Providing expert legal advice on corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and banking law matters.
  2. Assisting in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures related to these areas.
  3. Liaising with external counsel and other stakeholders as necessary.
  4. Mentoring and training junior lawyers and non-legal personnel.

Key Requirements:

  • LLB or equivalent from a reputable university or law school with admission to a recognized civil or common law Bar (or equivalent body).
  • Post-lawyer qualification experience with a recognized law firm and/or in-house legal function for a recognized corporate entity.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely to various stakeholders.
  • Proficient in negotiating terms and conditions of financial transactions.
