Reliability Engineer

Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Location: Sur, Oman

1. Apply rigorous maintenance procedures to ensure the reliability and integrity of plant equipment and systems in designated areas.
2. Implement scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on relevant machinery, ensuring all work history and data are accurately documented in the maintenance management system.
3. Develop testing protocols and certificates in line with industry standards, linking them to respective equipment within the maintenance system.
4. Evaluate and apply standards and procedures for plant reliability and integrity in accordance with established guidelines.
5. Perform mechanical tasks such as pipe fitting and tightening using hydraulic torquing and tensioning methods.
6. Conduct proper slinging and lifting operations using chain-blocks and small cranes.
7. Remove and reinstall rotating equipment including pumps and motors.
8. Replace mechanical seals in pumps and compressors.
9. Obtain machine clearances and dimensional data for rotating equipment.
10. Manage and maintain accurate machine-specific documentation.
11. Work extended hours and respond to call-outs as required.

• Education: Degree, Higher National Diploma (HND), or Diploma in a related discipline or equivalent.
• Experience: Over 10 years in mechanical maintenance within the petrochemical, oil and gas, or power generation industries.

• Skills:
  • Proficient English language skills to international standards.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office applications and Windows operating system.
  • Good understanding of maintenance management systems.
  • Leadership skills to guide less experienced technicians.
  • Ability to pull-up gland packing and replace it properly.
  • Knowledge of spare parts identification and management.
