Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

Key responsibilities include overseeing maintenance and inspection engineering activities for rotating/static equipment and lifting systems, developing and validating maintenance plans for mechanical systems, contributing to pre-commissioning, commissioning, and startup planning, preparing scopes of work and supporting tendering for mechanical maintenance contracts, ensuring MIE deliverables comply with regulations and best practices, participating in design reviews, spare part strategies, and tooling requirements, working closely with digital tool teams to support predictive maintenance (CBM) deployment, reviewing engineering documents for use by operations and maintenance personnel, setting up asset readiness including CMIMS population, spares cataloguing, and vendor support, defining technical training requirements and mentoring junior staff.

Operational Phase Responsibilities:
  • Act as the technical authority for mechanical equipment during plant operations;
  • Lead execution of preventive, condition-based, and corrective maintenance;
  • Manage mechanical maintenance contractors and track performance against KPIs;
  • Define and implement long-term maintenance strategies and obsolescence planning;
  • Monitor compliance with Safety Critical Elements (SECE) and regulatory frameworks;
  • Drive improvements in plant availability, reliability, and cost optimization;
  • Support internal audits and contribute to HSE leadership in maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Engineering degree or Master's in Mechanical Engineering;
  • 10+ years' experience in mechanical maintenance within LNG or Oil & Gas sector;
  • 5+ years in field operations, 3+ years in a supervisory role;
  • Strong experience with CMIMS systems (SAP MM/PM preferred);
  • Proven record in resource planning, vendor coordination, and cost control;
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
