Civil Quality Management Specialist

Overview

This role requires a highly skilled professional to develop and implement quality control procedures for civil projects, ensuring compliance with specifications.

The successful candidate will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Control Planning: Develop and implement quality control procedures for civil projects, ensuring compliance with specifications.
  • Site Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular site inspections and audits, providing feedback to project teams on quality issues and adherence to standards.
  • Documentation Review: Review and approve quality-related documentation, including inspection and test plans, method statements, and material submittals.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Assist in developing project-specific quality management plans, aligning with industry best practices, and provide training and mentorship to QAQC personnel to foster a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Facilitate root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Quality Data Analysis: Analyze quality data and prepare comprehensive reports, highlighting trends and areas for improvement to senior management.
  • Stakeholder Interface: Interface with clients and stakeholders to manage quality-related concerns, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a master's degree is preferred for advanced roles.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant QAQC experience in the construction industry, specifically in civil projects.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional certifications such as ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Language Proficiency: Fluent in English; proficiency in additional languages is a plus, especially in regions with diverse workforces.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Strong knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards relevant to civil engineering, proficient in using QAQC software tools and project management applications for documentation and tracking.
