Job Title: Safety Engineer - Sustainability Specialist

About the Role
In this key position, you will drive sustainability and safety initiatives across our organization. With your extensive experience in technical safety, you will lead teams in identifying and mitigating risks, developing and implementing safety protocols, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. Your passion for sustainability and commitment to excellence will make you an integral part of our team.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead technical safety assessments and develop safety cases for projects and operations.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with fire protection systems, hazardous area classification, and safeguarding.
- Develop and implement applicable design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operation & maintenance requirements for active and passive fire protection systems, firewater ring main and distribution systems, firewater pumps/storage tanks/deluge systems, fire & gas detection systems, and gaseous fire protection systems.
- Facilitate and lead workshops for technical safety, including HAZID, HAZOP, Bow-Ties, ALARP demonstration, MOPO/SIMOPs workshop, SCE Identification workshops, DEM1/DEM2/LFI Screenings and demonstrations.

Requirements
- Minimum 12 years total experience in production or engineering of oil and gas facilities, including a minimum of 10 years' experience in Technical Safety Engineering in Oil and Gas.
- Experience in Physical Effects Modelling and Quantitative Risk Assessment.
- Previous experience/conducted studies using Shell FRED, SHEPHERD software and/or other PEM/Risk integration software.
- Formal certification in Technical Safety will be preferred.
- Competent to interpret and apply Technical Safety engineering related industry standards into projects.
