Library Assistant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist our librarian in managing the day-to-day operations of the library. This is a part-time position suitable for students or individuals who do not have English as their first language.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the library collection
  • Help patrons with locating and checking out materials
  • Answer basic reference questions and provide general information about library services
  • Process new materials, including cataloging and shelving
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as record keeping, inventory, and preparing reports
  • Help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for patrons

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with some coursework in library science or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with library software systems
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
