Manager - Financial Systems and Automation

The role of the Financial Systems and Automation Manager at Oman Air requires strong technical expertise and effective collaboration skills to drive process efficiency within the Finance function.

About the Job:

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the implementation and smooth operation of finance department systems (e.g., ERPs, etc.) in line with service level agreements.
  • Prepare a detailed plan of key tasks/activities/initiatives, along with priorities & implementation dates, including cost and benefits analysis/business case to obtain management approval.
  • Provide periodic updates to management on automation projects progress, key milestones, and challenges with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Assist the team in resolving IT-related internal and external audit observations.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting, Accounting, Treasury, and Planning teams to make processes/reporting lean and automated without compromising control.
  • Respond promptly to stakeholders' emails and requests without significant delays and inform management of any delays or unusual events.
  • Oversee all system maintenance, user access/permission, and debugging, including investigating and resolving data-related issues/transactions.
  • Manage and support financial department users with any system issues.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance automation, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Support in drafting/enhancing Standard Operating Procedures (SoPs) and/or user guides to aid users in mastering financial applications.
  • Provide periodic financial analysis and insights to management to inform decision-making.
  • Work with a specialized advisor to update systems and UI/UX.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and IT teams to optimize financial systems.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders, digital, data, and IT departments to update systems impacting the Finance function, ensuring optimized processes, automation, and controls.
  • Collaborate with the Financial Reporting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Act as a consultant working closely with finance departments to understand business requirements and recommend system solutions that address those needs.
  • Provide constructive feedback and performance reviews to team members to support their professional development and ensure proper succession planning.

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree in technology, finance, or accounting (mandatory). Post-graduate degree/accreditation such as MBA is a plus.
  • 8+ years of technology, financial, or accounting experience with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a managerial role within the aviation industry (mandatory).
  • Experience working with financial systems including ERPs with proven knowledge of financial processes, workflows, financial software, and automation tools.
  • Strong ethical conduct with dedication to maintaining ethical standards across all corporate matters and adhering to the aviation industry laws and Code of Conduct.
  • Demonstrated outstanding organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
