Job Description

As a highly skilled technician, you will be responsible for performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on fuel assets. This includes ensuring compliance with USAF publications and the Performance Work Statement (PWS). You will work effectively with diverse teams and must have excellent organizational skills.

The primary responsibilities of this role include retrieving inbound equipment, evaluating the overall condition of fuel assets, and performing visual inspections and functional checks. You will also be responsible for cleaning and inspecting major and minor components, troubleshooting deficiencies, and taking corrective action.

Additionally, you will rebuild engines, fuel nozzles, and fuel/air valves, remove and replace hoses and air lines, perform reconstitution, and replace missing or defective components that do not meet technical order specifications. You will also perform mechanical, electrical, and fuel servicing system repairs, hydrostatic tests of fuel dispensing hoses, and calibrate gauges and meters used on fuel assets and other related equipment.

Furthermore, you will document timesheets and work orders, identify parts and materials being requisitioned, and maintain the battery charging room if applicable. You will also fit and remove batteries on receipt or out-load of fuel assets, report worn or broken tools to Fuels supervision, and document timesheets and work orders.

This is a full-time entry-level position in the engineering and information technology field. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of two years of hands-on work experience on pumping systems, gasoline, and diesel engines. Formal training to a proficiency level of journeyman in a structured school of mechanical maintenance of fuel pumping systems, to include internal combustible engines and electrical systems, is desired but not required.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to understand, speak, read, and write English at a beginner level.
  • Ability to interpret technical publications, maintenance action sheets, safety, and environmental instructions.
  • Capacity to work effectively with diverse workforce encompassing different cultural backgrounds.
  • Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
  • May be required to operate material handling and light to heavy military type vehicles/equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of two years of hands-on work experience on pumping systems, gasoline, and diesel engines required.
