Financial Statement Auditor Role

**Job Description:**
Mandarin Oriental Muscat seeks a skilled Income Auditor to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to ensure accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.

**Responsibilities:**
  • Account for daily hotel income and verify monthly revenue postings.
  • Prepare and distribute timely Daily Revenue Reports to management.
  • Review and monitor all hotel revenue reports and night audit reports.
  • Evaluate daily revenues and settlements for balance and reconciliation in PMS, POS, and other systems.
  • Verify interface postings for accurate revenue postings.
  • Reconcile revenue centers as reported in the income journal daily.
  • Ensure accurate Rooms, F&B, and Spa statistics reporting.
  • Verify SUN account mapping for revenues and statistics transaction codes in Datavision.
  • Review rate code changes via Rate Discrepancy and Variance Reports.
  • Verify rooms sold below 50% of Best Available Rate (BAR) with supporting documents.
  • Review walk-in guest rates with applicable documentation.
  • Review No-Show Reports to ensure chargeable No Shows are charged.
  • Authorize and approve rebates, allowances, and discounts according to hotel policies.
  • Review paid-out transactions for completeness and authorization.
  • Approve miscellaneous, negative postings, and house charges with adequate explanations.
  • Calculate and update foreign exchange rates in the PMS system, informing Front Desk of approved/new currency rates.
  • Ensure complimentary rooms are supported by approved forms and prior General Manager approval.
  • Review housekeeping discrepancy and room reconciliation reports.
  • Verify physical room checks performed by security & hotel duty manager.
  • Reconcile banquet revenue postings by reviewing daily event lists and BEOs.
  • Verify F&B voids, authorization, and backup information.
  • Review F&B negative postings, discounts, and house charges for proper approval and documentation.
  • Account for complimentary & entertainment checks, indicating guest name and purpose.
  • Review Open Key sales for completeness and authorization.
  • Reconcile credit card terminal settlements with system postings.
  • Address credit card reconciliation discrepancies promptly.
  • Handle guest issues and disputes, including credit card inquiries and charge backs.
  • Prepare extension-wise telephone reports and submit to departments for review.
  • Administer complimentary local gift certificates and global gift cards accurately.
  • Verify redeemed gift cards against Givex slips and Gift Card City Ledger/House Account.
  • Conduct monthly inventory of global gift cards and report to Corporate Office.
  • Review the daily General Cashier Report (GCR), verifying banked amount against total receipts.
  • Clearance accounts must be zeroed out every month end.
  • Subsidiary ledgers (Guest Ledger, AR Account/City Ledger, Advance Deposit) must be reconciled with General Ledger balances monthly.
  • Prepare month-end reconciliation for related General Ledger and revenue balances.
  • Conduct monthly spot checks in operations, such as menu price verification and Emergency Kit reviews.
  • Assist the General Cashier in performing surprise cash float counts.
  • Monitor accountable form issuances (Official Receipts, Manual Guest Checks, Complimentary Forms).
