Economic Diversification Investment Specialist

Job Summary:

This role contributes to deal sourcing of investments in companies operating in Industrials, aligned with market needs. The Senior Associate will manage project progress, conduct continuous evaluation of existing portfolios, and support successful exits of existing deals to maximize revenues and enhance value creation within the Industrials sector.

1. Industrial Business Development: Contribute to leading industrial business development, capital projects, strategic partnerships, etc., to optimize their revenues.
2. Deal Evaluation: Evaluate available deal opportunities for suitability against strategy and objectives, and prioritize them based on their relative attractiveness and fit to the overall strategy.
3. Financial Analysis: Build, review, and update financial models, including return and sensitivity analysis for various investment opportunities.
4. Data Integrity: Maintain and secure the integrity of business development data/information to safeguard competitiveness.
5. Investment Committee Memos: Prepare comprehensive Investment Committee (IC) memos summarizing key deal aspects, analysis, and recommendations.
6. Transaction Process: Develop and negotiate each stage of the transaction process, ensuring that interests are protected and optimized.
7. Deal Documentation: Review and support Investment Managers in negotiating deal documentation, ensuring negotiated terms and structure are adequately documented.
8. Transaction Origination: Take lead in transaction origination efforts for allocated sector to ensure execution is in line with Corporate Governance and investment policy guidelines.
9. Due Diligence Studies: Critically review due diligence studies, guide advisors on areas for further work, and ensure critical findings are reported to senior deal team members and the Investment Committee.
10. Transactional Activities: Coordinate and monitor transactional activities, including relationships with shareholders and stakeholders, to minimize risks.
11. Alignment with Country Objectives: Maintain constant alignment of OIA's Industrials sectors with the country's diversification objectives and targets.
12. Stakeholder Relationships: Build and preserve relationships with key stakeholders, including national initiatives.
13. Divestment and Fund Raising: Actively support portfolio companies in divestment and fund raising, and recommend disposal plans as required.
14. Project Tracking: Oversee and track the progress of all projects within the Industrials portfolio, ensuring adherence to predefined milestones.
15. Centralized Tracking System: Establish and maintain a centralized tracking system to monitor project status, highlighting critical path activities and deadlines.
16. Bottlenecks and Challenges: Identify and address bottlenecks or challenges that may delay project progress.
17. Solution-Oriented Support: Provide direct support and guidance to team members, offering solutions to overcome hurdles and maintain project momentum.
18. Strategic Timelines and Objectives: Ensure project activities align with strategic timelines and objectives, facilitating an efficient progression to FID.
19. Progress Reviews: Organize and lead regular progress reviews and update meetings to evaluate team performance and project status.
20. Project Status Reports: Prepare and deliver comprehensive project status reports detailing current progress, challenges encountered, and proposed solutions.
21. Collaboration and Liaison: Collaborate with other departments or external advisors to provide resources and expertise needed to resolve project-related challenges.
22. Task Prioritization: Prioritize tasks and resource allocation to ensure projects remain on track for targeted FID dates.
23. Best Practices: Implement best practices in project management to streamline processes and enhance team productivity.
24. Strategic Guidance: Assist in providing strategic guidance to companies operating in the Industrials sectors along with their Boards and contribute to refining companies' strategic objectives and KPIs.
25. Support to Directors: Provide guidance to directors at portfolios' companies to support and enable them to reach set targets.
26. Returns on Investments: Support Investment Managers in maximizing returns on executed deals throughout the entire holding period and through to the exit phase.
27. Shareholder Rights: Monitor rights as a shareholder through the timely exercise of Shareholder Reserve Matters.
28. Project Management: Implement appropriate project management of transactional activities to ensure execution is within budget and agreed timelines.
29. MIS Team Collaboration: Liaise seamlessly with members of the MIS team to ensure active monitoring and value creation throughout the holding period of the investment.
30. Policies and Procedures: Comply with the implementation of Industrials policies and procedures to ensure fulfillment of procedural and legislative requirements.
31. Health, Safety, and Quality: Comply with all relevant health, safety, and quality requirements to guarantee employee safety and legislative compliance.
32. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes, and practices taking into account 'leading best practices', improvement of business processes, cost reduction, and productivity improvement.
