Job Description

Auditing is a vital function that ensures the integrity and security of an organization's information technology systems.

The IT Auditor role involves conducting thorough audits to identify vulnerabilities, assess risk, and implement controls to mitigate potential threats.

As an IT Auditor, you will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure that all systems and processes are in compliance with established standards and regulations.

You will be responsible for planning, executing, and reporting on audits, as well as providing recommendations for improvement.

This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Conducting audits to identify vulnerabilities and assess risk
  • Developing and implementing controls to mitigate potential threats
  • Working closely with stakeholders to ensure compliance with established standards and regulations
  • Planning, executing, and reporting on audits
  • Providing recommendations for improvement

Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of IT Audit/IT Security experience in an organization with IT profile similar to that of Bank Muscat
  • Ability to gather data from Information systems and analyze it for logical conclusions
  • Skill in assessing the effectiveness of internal controls over key IT risks, identifying significant exposures, analyzing transactions and other management information, and detecting changes in key risks and/or control effectiveness
  • CISA or CISSP or CISM certification preferred
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in IT auditing or IT security
  • Strong knowledge of IT audit standards, statements, and practices, as well as IT security and control practices
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with IT auditing software and tools
