Job Description

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Security Operations Engineer to join our team. This role offers a unique opportunity to design, implement and evolve security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies that determine how we secure our data, internal infrastructure and build processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and evolve the Security Operation Center to ensure the highest level of assurance and observable rigour in the open source supply chain.
  • Analyse and improve our security architecture to identify and mitigate potential threats.
  • Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks to protect our infrastructure and assets.

In addition to these key responsibilities, you will also be expected to grow the presence and thought leadership of our SecOps practice, contribute to open source threat intelligence initiatives, and drive threat modelling, table top exercises and other SecOps practices across Engineering, IS and Canonical.

Requirements:
  • Exceptional academic track record with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM.
  • Previous professional experience working or leading a Security Operation Center.
  • Deep personal motivation to be at the forefront of technology security.
  • Expertise in threat modelling and risk management frameworks such as NIST CSF and ISO27001.
