Job Description:

A key responsibility as an engineering manager is to support the growth and well-being of engineers within the team. This involves ensuring that team members are challenged, developing their skills through coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development.

The ideal candidate will possess sound engineering principles, contribute directly toward team goals, and set expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders.

Prior experience with agile software development methodologies is essential, along with a commitment to healthy engineering practices, documentation, quality, and performance optimization.


Responsibilities:
  • Build and lead a team of engineers in your timezone
  • Develop talent through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on career development
  • Demonstrate sound engineering principles and directly contribute toward team goals
  • Set expectations with other engineering teams, management, and external stakeholders
  • Lead modern, agile software development practices
  • Ensure a healthy, collaborative engineering culture
  • Be an active part of the leadership team
  • Engage with other teams and the open-source community
  • Work from home with occasional global travel

Requirements:
  • You love to mentor, develop, and grow people
  • You are knowledgeable about software development
  • You have experience with agile development methodologies
  • You hold a Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Computer Science, STEM, or similar field
  • Software development experience in Python or Golang
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Practical experience with at least one cloud platform
