Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Cable Design Engineer to join our team. As part of the Technical team, you will be responsible for ensuring the most competitive and appropriate cable designs for each situation, considering our needs and capabilities, and the customers' needs.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Cooperate with the marketing team in responding timeously to customer enquiries for cables.
  2. Understand the technical requirements of the customer in terms of cable and design the cable as per requirements.
  3. Analyse the customer needs to understand the requirements as per our technical feasibility and provide feedback to the marketing team accordingly.
  4. Identify all aspects requiring clarification and participate in technical communications and meetings with customers to ensure the customers' needs can be met and will be met.
  5. Prepare raw material specifications as and when required.
  6. Provide the technical data sheets as and when required by customers.
  7. Prepare and upload the design sheets / BOMs for the raw materials required for production of cable in the ERP for use by the financial and marketing teams.
  8. Coordinate with R&D for all development, and with QC for additional testing that may be required.
  9. Ensure daily activities are distributed to team members.
Post-Order Activities
  1. Perform contract review after order confirmation to clarify and finalize any ambiguities in the purchase orders through the marketing department.
  2. Prepare the CA Family, Item codes & CMS (Cable Manufacturing Specification) as per the purchase order and transfer the information to the production team for final production.
  3. Generate the information needed for the MES as required.
  4. Review the CMSs prepared by Design Engineers before sending it to production.
  5. Prepare designs in a format suitable for driving the MES.
  6. Collaborate with the New Product Development team, Material & Lab teams, Operations & Procurement teams.
  7. Lead activities on CSI, DTC & Sustainability.
  8. Substitute managers' responsibilities as required.
