As a Software Platform Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers to enable and optimize Ubuntu for the latest hardware platforms. Key responsibilities include overseeing commercial engagements, participating as technical lead on complex customer engagements, implementing disciplined engineering processes, integrating and maintaining platform-oriented software stacks, optimizing Ubuntu for latest hardware platforms, displaying technical leadership internally and within external communities, and contributing to code reviews and technical documentation.

The ideal candidate will have exceptional academic track record from both high school and university, an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, fluency in C, C++, and Python, experience with Linux and operational systems software (e.g. kernel or user space), Debian/Ubuntu or other distro packaging, leading software engineering teams, professional written and spoken English, confidence to respectfully speak up, exchange feedback, and share ideas without hesitation, thoughtfulness, self-motivation, result-oriented, and ability to travel internationally twice a year for company events up to two weeks long.
