Job Description:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering best-practice solutions in microwave-based technologies for our network. This will involve working closely with the RAN team to design the required backhaul for all RAN sites.


Key Accountabilities and Decision Ownership:
  • Define the short & long-term strategic plan for IP transit & international capacity in coordination with wholesale teams.
  • Work as an IP Solution Architect for the IP RAN network, as well as the MPBN network.
  • Design and manage the development of the mobile backhaul network to support the delivery of current and future services for both technology IP and Microwave.
  • Provide backhaul solutions and coordination for survey, planning, design, and issuance of work orders for IP networks, DWDM, and MW Links to connect new sites, relocate existing sites to the backend network, ensuring desired implementation is executed.
  • Design and manage the development of an end-to-end IP network which is secure, flexible, and extensible to support the delivery of both current and future services.
  • Manage/Implement MPLS NNI with local and global MPLS providers to enhance our footprint.
  • Ensure cost-effective design solutions for the IP RAN network expansion.
  • Manage or provide technical input in assigned projects and deliver the required project outputs or technical support.
  • B2B service design and coordinate with Enterprise and operations teams for service implementation.
  • Create, maintain, and implement design guidelines and standards.
  • Achieve delivery of projects in a timely manner and follow up on progress of activities.
  • Maintain planning documentation and keep information current on relevant documents and engineering tools. Maintain updated diagrams for the Backhaul and Backbone networks of relevance.

Core Competencies, Knowledge, and Experience:
  • 6-8 years of experience in telecommunications industry, specifically in design, management, or procurement of all technologies related to the Transmission network.
  • Very strong knowledge on IP/MPLS network technologies.
  • Very strong knowledge on IGW services and network technologies.
  • Knowledge/experience in design and project delivery of Mobile Backhaul technologies, MW, DWDM, and MPLS technologies.
  • Strong knowledge in Ericsson & Huawei IP products including Firewall.
  • Strong knowledge on SD-WAN, IPv4/IPv6 technologies (MPLS, IGP/EGR protocols).

  • Delivery of projects in a timely manner.

Must Have Technical/Professional Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Telecommunications industry.
