Job Title: Transport Network Designer

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Transport Network Designer, where you will play a key role in driving excellence in transport network design.

  • Responsibilities:
  1. To assess the prerequisites, performance criteria and growth trajectories of Omantel's network to determine suitable technological solutions.
  2. To plan and design transmission solutions and end-to-end connectivity for rollout sites (5G, LTE, greenfield, USO, Adhoc), corporate, and fixed services through MW, PMP, Unlicensed MW, Fiber, or VSAT.
  3. To strategize wireless transport technology considering advancements and align the network roadmap with current topology and capabilities.
  4. To design microwave backhaul networks for efficient traffic aggregation and transport.
  5. To perform link budget calculations for optimal signal quality and coverage.
  6. To conduct path profiling studies considering terrain, Fresnel zone, and atmospheric effects.
  7. To allocate frequency bands to optimize spectrum utilization and minimize interference.
  8. To plan capacity using predictive analytics to anticipate traffic demands and deploy high-capacity solutions like SDB, MBB, HRLB, E-bands, MIMO, and others.
  9. To manage capacity planning and ensure sufficient transmission capacity for forecasts and requests.
  10. To monitor microwave network performance and optimize link parameters.
  11. To plan and implement network expansions to meet increased traffic and coverage needs.
  12. To optimize infrastructure utilization through traffic shifting and migration, adhering to TRA guidelines.
  13. To lead RFP evaluations and assess vendor compliance with standards.
  14. To manage MW Frame Contracts from issuance to delivery and implementation.
  15. To coordinate procurement and contracts activities.
  16. To analyze and develop ATN/IP transport network plans, architecture, and standards.
  17. To design and scope ATN/IP network elements based on forecasts and trends.
  18. To develop plans, technical requirements, and cost estimates for network expansion and migration.
  19. To prepare specifications, standards, and acceptance tests for network expansion.
  20. To develop internal business cases and initiate planning for transport network requirements.
  21. To prepare tenders and evaluate offers for IP Core network procurements.
  22. To coordinate with planning teams for new expansion and technology integration.
  23. To manage daily activities related to network planning, site surveys, and problem resolution.
  24. To utilize tools and resources to execute transport network projects successfully.
  25. To provide technical expertise for problem resolution.
  26. To generate monthly reports on network utilization, plans, projects, and contracts.
  27. To update management regularly on network status, problems, and achievements.
  28. To ensure accuracy and validity of all provided information.
