Senior Financial Modelling Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Modelling Specialist to join our team. This is a senior-level role that requires strong financial modelling skills and experience in business planning and forecasting.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Modelling Specialist will be responsible for leading the development and enhancement of financial models to support strategic decision-making, incorporating growth projects, asset divestments, and various market scenarios.

This includes driving the integration of scenario analysis and price sensitivity assessments into all financial planning activities to evaluate potential risks and returns under multiple business environments.

The successful candidate will guide the implementation of advanced planning systems, forecasting tools, and financial databases to support dynamic and responsive financial planning aligned with Group objectives.

They will advise business units and Group leadership on the financial implications of strategic initiatives, including capital deployment, divestiture options, and new investments.

The role will oversee and support the execution of the annual budgeting and planning cycle, including mid-year forecasts, rolling re-forecasts, and long-range planning updates.

The Senior Financial Modelling Specialist must ensure that planning frameworks align with financial reporting standards, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain robust financial models that integrate operational inputs, macroeconomic assumptions, commodity price scenarios, and market variables.
  2. Evaluate and challenge OPEX and CAPEX proposals using scenario-based financial impact assessments, incorporating NPV, IRR, and payback analyses.
  3. Deliver strategic financial perspectives to shape Group-level priorities, investment strategies, and funding allocations.
  4. Oversee the production of the annual business plan, financial forecasts, budget narratives in close coordination with finance, strategy, and operational teams.

The Senior Financial Modelling Specialist must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross-functional collaboration.

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities while ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong commitment to accuracy, data integrity, and continuous improvement in planning and reporting processes.
