Job Title: Chief Cyber Security Strategist

The Chief Cyber Security Strategist will lead our global team of security experts responsible for designing, implementing and evolving our company's cyber security practices, techniques, tools, systems and policies. The team is the primary owner of strategy and practices that determine how we secure our data, internal infrastructure and build processes.

  • Hire and mentor a team of outstanding technical security professionals to drive our security strategy forward.
  • Define our company's security standards and playbooks to ensure consistent application across all departments.
  • Own and drive the architecture and design of our Security Operations Center (SOC) to ensure seamless threat detection and response.
  • Analyse and improve our company's security architecture to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Evaluate, select and implement new security tools and practices to enhance our overall security posture.
  • Identify, contain and guide the remediation of security threats and cyber attacks to minimize business impact.
  • Promote thought leadership and industry visibility for our company's security practice through strategic engagement with external partners and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to open source threat intelligence initiatives to support the broader security community.
  • Drive threat modelling, table top exercises and other security practices across Engineering, IS and the wider organization.
  • Develop comprehensive security learning and development materials to upskill our team.
  • Publish strategic content including blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations to showcase our expertise.
  • Track and measure key performance indicators (KPIs) for our security program to inform future strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders to develop and execute plans to advance our security capabilities in line with business objectives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

We are seeking an exceptional leader with a proven track record of mitigating advanced threats from nation-state actors. Key qualifications include:

  • Expert understanding of SOC architecture and design, including strategies for logging, firewalls, network segmentation, honeypots, etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of Linux security and ability to define, implement, automate and measure effective incident response playbooks.
  • Experience contributing to, and consuming, threat intelligence feeds to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Strong security risk management framework skills, including NIST CSF.
  • Exceptional academic record from high school and university, with a degree in Computer Science or STEM, or alternative path.
  • Proven leadership and management abilities, with experience driving high-performing teams.
  • Excellent business English writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate security performance metrics.
