Linux Kernel Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Linux kernel specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating system kernel internals and concepts, with experience in C programming and Linux development.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work on cutting-edge Linux kernel projects, collaborating with a globally distributed team to deliver high-quality results. As a Linux kernel specialist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving issues in the kernel, submitting, reviewing, and applying kernel patches, and improving tooling and automation for delivery and test of Ubuntu Linux kernels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with a globally distributed team to develop and maintain the Ubuntu Linux kernel
  • Diagnose and resolve issues in the kernel reported by customers, the community, and discovered by your own rigorous testing
  • Submit, review, and apply kernel patches, working with both internal and external upstream maintainers
  • Improve tooling and automation for delivery and test of Ubuntu Linux kernels
Requirements
  • Strong background in operating system kernel internals and concepts
  • Experience in C programming and Linux development
  • Solid background with git
  • Experience with Linux (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
  • Professional written and spoken English with excellent presentation skills
