Job Overview

The Senior Planning Engineer will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of renewable energy projects by developing and maintaining comprehensive project schedules, resource plans, and progress tracking systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and update detailed project schedules for all phases of renewable energy projects: development, engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Prepare and manage project work breakdown structures, activity coding structures, and critical path analyses to ensure timely project completion.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and construction to integrate inputs into the master schedule.
  • Conduct risk analysis and identify potential delays, resource constraints, and recovery plans to mitigate project risks.
  • Support project cost control through forecasting, earned value analysis, and variance analysis to ensure budget compliance.
  • Prepare regular progress reports, dashboards, and performance KPIs for stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing tender and contract schedules, reviewing contractor schedules for accuracy and compliance.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with team members, contractors, consultants, and local authorities to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Monitor project timelines, grid connection deadlines, and permitting requirements to prevent delays.
RequirementsEducation & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of planning experience in large infrastructure or renewable energy projects, preferably with solar, wind, hybrid, or storage technologies.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or MS Project is essential for effective project scheduling.
  • Experience working with EPC contractors, consultants, and utility stakeholders is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy permitting, interconnection, and regulatory requirements is necessary.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to effectively manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Knowledge of earned value management and project control principles to ensure project budget compliance.
  • Understanding of construction methodologies and renewable energy technologies to support project execution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to engage with stakeholders and convey complex information effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Proactive and adaptable approach to fast-paced project environments and changing priorities.
