Vehicle Chief Mechanic is a critical role that oversees the maintenance, preservation, and reconstitution of all vehicle assets.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain monthly goals for reconstitution, preservation, and inspection of vehicles.
  • Conduct receipt limited technical inspections in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
  • Ensure cost-effective repairs are performed on vehicle assets.
  • Prioritize tasks based on goals and schedules.
  • Inspect and prepare vehicles for transportation.
  • Supervise assigned technicians.
  • Provide training to maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain high standards of safety practices and housekeeping.
  • Ensure tools and equipment are serviceable and secured.
  • Dispose of hazardous materials according to standard operating procedures.
  • Research repair parts to ensure only required parts are requested.
  • Oversee and inspect time compliance technical order actions within prescribed guidelines.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of work orders.
  • Inspect completed vehicle repairs to maintain quality assurance.
  • Return unserviceable and unused repair parts to the supply facility.
  • Update data on the quality management system database.
