Job Description:

A prestigious hospitality establishment seeks a highly skilled and experienced Head Sommelier to join its team. As a key member of the Food & Beverage department, you will be responsible for elevating the dining experience and ensuring exceptional service standards.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • a high school diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 years of restaurant management experience in a full-service outlet or a similar setting
  • 3+ years of demonstrated sommelier experience
  • A Hospitality Management Degree or some college education is preferred
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is acceptable
  • Strong proficiency in written and spoken English, along with the ability to reside in a remote location for extended periods and travel on a single status basis
  • Knowledge and experience in the purchasing and production process and is equally versed in global distribution

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all established policies, procedures, and best practices are in place and strictly enforced
  • Support the Director of Food & Beverage in enhancing the restaurant and culinary experience
  • Continuously assess Food & Beverage amenities, menus, and wine lists to ensure relevance and alignment with wellness and sustainability practices
  • Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of menus and daily specials across all outlets
  • Demonstrate expertise in the wine list and provide informed recommendations to guests
