Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Software Engineering Manager to lead our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team. As the manager of this high-performing team, you will be responsible for building Go and Python services and secure identity and access management solutions that will be used across all company products.

This is an opportunity for a software engineering manager with a passion for distributed systems operations to help us transform the future of identity management at Canonical. Experience in the IAM field is desirable but not required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a high-performance software engineering team
  • Design and implement complex, distributed systems
  • Work with upstream open source projects, alongside internal teams to deliver high-quality software
  • Manage the team backlog, review code, and coach younger team members
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Proven experience hiring and leading a high-performance software engineering team
  • Experience with Go and Python software development
  • Strong understanding of software/infrastructure security and performance
  • Knowledge of container technology and Kubernetes
