
Oil and Gas Plant Inspection Specialist

We are seeking experienced and certified inspectors to be part of a challenging and rewarding Oil & Gas shutdown project in Oman. This project presents an excellent chance to work on a high-profile project, leveraging your expertise in plant inspection, welding inspection, refractory inspection, and non-metallic inspection.
Project Overview:
- The shutdown duration is approximately one month.
- Tentative mobilization dates will be communicated to selected candidates.
- Working hours will be 12 hours per day, six days a week.
- Tentative interview schedules will be announced in due course.
Key Responsibilities:
Plant Inspector- Conduct detailed inspections of plant equipment and machinery to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and operational standards.
- Monitor shutdown activities, identify potential risks, and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure all inspections are properly documented and results are reported to the project management team.
- Oversee quality control and quality assurance activities related to welding operations.
- Inspect and verify welding procedures, welder qualifications, and welding materials.
- Review and approve welding documentation including procedures, test records, and inspection reports.
- Ensure compliance with the project's welding codes and standards.
- Inspect refractory linings for industrial plants and equipment, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications.
- Monitor the installation, maintenance, and repair of refractory materials during the shutdown process.
- Perform damage assessments and recommend corrective actions to improve system reliability.
- Conduct inspections of FRP piping, equipment, and components to ensure integrity and performance.
- Identify and assess any wear, damage, or failure in FRP systems.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to recommend improvements or repairs where necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Plant Inspector- A minimum of one API certification is required (API 510, 570, or 653 preferred).
- Extensive experience in inspection of equipment, pipelines, and vessels within the oil & gas industry.
- Strong knowledge of plant operations, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- CSWIP 3.1 or AWS CWI Certification is mandatory.
- NDT Certifications (Level II or Level III) in RT, UT, MT, or PT.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, codes, and standards applicable to the oil & gas industry.
- API 936 Certification is mandatory.
- In-depth knowledge of refractory materials, their properties, and applications in the oil & gas industry.
- Experience in refractory installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Proven experience with FRP inspection, particularly in the oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
- Ability to carry out visual inspections, hardness tests, and other NDT specific to non-metallic materials.
- Knowledge of FRP material properties and failure mechanisms.
