Cloud Software Engineer Opportunity

Canonical is a pioneering tech firm that publishes Ubuntu, one of the most important open source projects and the platform for AI, IoT, and the cloud. We recruit on a global basis and set a very high standard for people joining the company.

We are seeking a talented Cloud Software Engineer to join our Observability team. As a key member of this team, you will play a crucial role in developing a cloud-native monitoring stack that composes best-in-class open-source monitoring tools.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in Python and/or Go, with a strong passion for open source software, Linux, Kubernetes, and Observability. You will work collaboratively with a globally distributed team to write, test, and document high-quality code to create new features, debug issues, and review code produced by other engineers.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate proactively with a globally distributed team to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud-based solutions
  • Write, test, and document high-quality code to create new features, fix bugs, and enhance existing ones
  • Debug complex issues and interact with a vibrant community to resolve technical challenges
  • Review code produced by other engineers to ensure high standards of quality and maintainability
  • Participate in conferences to represent Canonical and the Charmed Observability Stack, sharing knowledge and expertise with the wider community
