The Academic and Behavior Support Staff position is a vital component of our educational team, providing essential support services to students who require additional assistance with academics, emotions, or behaviors. This critical role involves collaboration with educators, counselors, and administrators to develop and implement targeted strategies that promote academic achievement and social-emotional growth.

Key Duties:

  • Deliver one-on-one and small group academic support sessions under the guidance of classroom teachers and specialists.

  • Develop and implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs) to address specific student needs.

  • Contribute to data collection and analysis on academic progress and behavioral incidents.

  • Support educators in maintaining a productive and respectful learning environment.

  • Attend meetings related to student support plans (e.g., IEP, 504, RTI meetings).

  • Foster social skills and conflict resolution strategies among students.

  • Oversee students during non-academic periods (e.g., lunch, recess, transitions).

  • Collaborate with staff to adapt instructional materials and activities for students with special needs.

  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the dignity and rights of all students.

  • Engage in professional development and training opportunities as necessary.
