IB Diploma Programme Director

Aristotle Teachers is seeking an experienced and visionary IB Diploma Programme Coordinator to join our team. Key Responsibilities

• Programme Leadership: Oversee the implementation and development of the IB Diploma Programme, ensuring compliance with IB standards and practices.
• Liaison: Serve as the primary liaison between Aristotle Teachers and the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO).
• Authorization: Lead the preparation for IB authorization and evaluation visits, including the submission of required documentation.
• Curriculum Alignment: Monitor and review curriculum alignment to ensure the delivery of a high-quality programme.

Academic Coordination

• Teacher Support: Collaborate with DP teachers to plan and implement the curriculum across subject areas.
• TOK, EE, CAS: Support teachers in the integration of Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), and Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS) into the DP curriculum.
• Assessment Practices: Provide guidance on assessment practices, including internal and external assessments.
• Exam Administration: Organize and oversee the administration of IB exams, including exam schedules, logistics, and adherence to IB protocols.

Student Support

• Subject Selections: Advise and support students in their subject selections, pathways, and overall programme requirements.
• TOK, EE, CAS Guidance: Provide guidance to students on TOK, EE, and CAS components to ensure successful completion.
• Career Guidance: Work closely with school counselors to support students in university applications and career guidance.

Professional Development and Training

• IB Training: Organize and facilitate IB training and professional development for DP teachers.
• Collaborative Culture: Promote a collaborative and reflective teaching culture that aligns with IB philosophies.
• Stay Updated: Stay updated on changes and developments in the IB Diploma Programme and communicate these to staff and leadership.

Communication and Collaboration

• Clear Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with students, parents, and staff regarding the DP programme.
• Regular Meetings: Conduct regular meetings with DP teachers to review programme progress and address challenges.
• Information Sessions: Provide information sessions and workshops for parents and prospective students about the IB Diploma Programme.

Data and Reporting

• Data Analysis: Monitor and analyze student performance data to inform instruction and programme improvements.
• Reporting: Prepare reports for school leadership, IBO, and other stakeholders as required.
• Record-Keeping: Ensure accurate record-keeping and reporting of all IB-related documentation.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
• Teaching Qualification: Recognized teaching qualification/license.
• Teaching Experience: Significant teaching experience, preferably within the IB Diploma Programme.
• IB Philosophy: Strong understanding of IB philosophy, standards, and practices.

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
